Motor ignited and rocket lifted-off pad ~6"-8" prior to CATO.    All motor contents (burning propellant, ejection charge, nozzle) ejected out forward and aft ends of motor.      Motor casing appears to be intact with no splits or burn-thru locations.    Damage to Estes Hi-Flier XL rocket included blown-out engine block/forward motor mount, bent motor retaining hook, punctured chute, and charred/separated shock cord.  Rocket currently not flyable, but may be repairable.    Planning to call Estes later today after filing this MESS report.
