The motor burned for approximately 1 second before exploding. The rocket was about 20ft in the when the accident occurred. The explosion blew out both the bottom and top of the motor and pushed the motor up into the upper section of the rocket knocking out the glued in motor block. Despite the parachute bay being stuffed with cellulose insulation the parachute was partially melted and the bottom of the nose cone had burn marks on it. I had just purchased the motors a day or two before the launch and still have the remaining two motors from the pack.
