The rocket began to lift off and cleared the 3-foot launch rod. At that point, the nose cone and recovery system were ejected simultaneously with a charge flying out the forward end of the body tube and debris being expelled from the tail. The pad plate suffered five deep dents.I have dramatic frame-be-frame documentation of the event.
