Takeoff of an Apogee Katana on a J540 for a SLI launch was initially normal. At about 350 feet, flames from the motor separated the booster from the E-bay, destroying the booster. E-bay survived without damage, and deployed the main parachute for a safe recovery. Drogue parachute was destroyed, and booster fell freely.
